Channel configuration

The Feed Reader Bot can send messages to Telegram channels.


How to configure the bot to post to a channel

1. Channel administrators

To configure the bot, add it to the channel's administrators:












(for premium accounts, add "Premium_TheFeedReaderBot", for Elite accounts add "Elite_TheFeedReaderBot")

Click on "ok", then "save".

2. Add the channel to the bot


-- New way to configure --

Type /channel in the bot, and select "configure a new channel":



Then, select the channel you want the bot to post to.

-- Old way to configure --

Transfer any message from your channel to the bot, and the configuration will be done.











3. Configure the channel in the bot

Now, all commands send to the bot will apply to your channel. So you can add feed subscriptions using /add, remove them using /remove, see the list of subscriptions using /list etc.
When you have finished configuring your channel, type /channel_end.

Important: Your account and your channels or groups have each their own settings and subscriptions.

Other channel commands

To see all channels you configured, type: /channel list
To rename a channel: /channel rename "@oldChannelName" "@newChannelName"
To remove a channel: /channel remove @channelName



Group configuration

The Feed Reader Bot can send messages to Telegram groups.


How to configure the bot to post to a group

1. Group administrators

To configure the bot, add it to the group's administrators:






Click on "Add administrator"



(for premium accounts, add "Premium_TheFeedReaderBot", for Elite accounts add "Elite_TheFeedReaderBot")

Click on "OK", then "Save"

2. Add the group to the bot

Type /group in the bot, and select "configure a new group":



Then, select the group you want the bot to post to.
Important: You must be administrator of the group, and the "Remain Anonymous" setting in your Admin rights must be set to false.

-- Old way to configure --

Type "/enable" in your group:



Important: You must be administrator of the group, and the "Remain Anonymous" setting in your Admin rights must be set to false.

Then, go back to the bot's chat window, and send the "/group -xxxxxxxx" command (it's better to use the numerical identifier than the group's name):



Be sure your group is public (after this configuration you could set it to private and the bot will still work).

3. Configure the group in the bot

Now, all commands send to the bot will apply to your group. So you can add feed subscriptions using /add, remove them using /remove, see the list of subscriptions using /list etc.
When you have finished configuring your group, type /group_end.

4. Group's topics (premium & elite only)

If you enabled topics in your group, you can configure the bot post to a specific topic. Use the "Group's topic ID" setting in the template & feed settings:



To retrieve the topic's identifier, just select your topic and click on "View topic info":





Other group commands

To see all groups you configured, type: /group list
To rename a group: /group rename "old name" "new name"
To remove a group: /group remove group's name
